A trip to explore Rach Gia ( Kien Giang ) would be incomplete without visiting the historical sites that bear witness to the passage of time and preserve the soul of this southern region.
Nguyen Trung Truc Shrine
This is the shrine dedicated to the national hero Nguyen Trung Truc, famous for his immortal saying: "Only when the Westerners have uprooted all the grass in Vietnam will the Vietnamese stop fighting the Westerners." To commemorate his contributions and heroic spirit, the local people erected a temple in his honor. Every year, his death anniversary is celebrated from the 26th to the 28th of August in the lunar calendar, attracting millions of pilgrims and becoming one of the largest festivals in the Mekong Delta.

Sac Tu Tam Bao Pagoda
Located on Su Thien An Street, Tam Bao Pagoda is an ancient temple with a history spanning hundreds of years. The pagoda is not only a spiritual place but also a revolutionary historical site, having once served as a hiding place for weapons and documents for the 1940 Southern Uprising. Legend says the pagoda was once granted the title "Sac Tu Tam Bao Tu" (Imperial Decree Tam Bao Pagoda) by King Gia Long; however, this precious decree was lost during the resistance war.

Tam Quan Gate
Built in 1955, the Tam Quan Gate on Nguyen Trung Truc Street has become an architectural and tourist symbol of the city. With its design consisting of a large central gate and two smaller symmetrical gates, resembling traditional Vietnamese village gates, this structure is a historical witness to the development of the coastal city and is deeply intertwined with the spiritual life of its people.

Kien Giang Museum
The Kien Giang Provincial Museum, over a century old, was originally the mansion of a former landowner. The building impresses with its unique blend of Eastern and Western architectural styles. Inside, the museum displays many valuable artifacts about the history, culture, and people of Kien Giang, especially ancient artifacts from the Oc Eo culture found locally.

Besides its traditional values, Rach Gia also has a modern feel with new constructions, offering tourists exciting experiences.

This is a source of pride for the people of Rach Gia, as it is the first land reclamation project in the country, covering a total area of 420 hectares. The project has transformed a coastal swamp into a bustling urban area with a 2km long artificial beach, white sand, and a system of parks, entertainment areas, and modern services, creating a fresh living and tourism space.

An Hoa Park
Located at the foot of Rach Soi Bridge, An Hoa Park is an ideal destination for recreation and relaxation. With its beautiful design, lush greenery, flower gardens, and dazzling lights at night, the park is particularly attractive to visitors. A highlight is the 20-meter-high Ferris wheel, from which visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the city and the sea at night.

Rach Gia Port
Not only is Rach Gia pier a crucial waterway connecting the mainland with Phu Quoc and Nam Du, but it is also a popular check-in spot. The unique pier architecture and the bustling scene of boats coming and going create a vibrant backdrop. It's an ideal place to watch the sunrise or sunset over the sea.
