Manchester United must find another partner after the possibility of Aston Villa buying Marcus Rashford is getting lower and lower.

Marcus Rashford's future is unclear.

According to the Manchester Evening News , Rashford will wait until the summer to make a decision on his future. Aston Villa have the option to buy the striker for £40 million, but the English club are struggling financially.

Aston Villa's imminent signing of Marco Asensio for a fee of around €15m has also added to Rashford's uncertainty. If they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, the club will be unlikely to buy out other loan signings such as Rashford and Axel Disasi.

The Express reported that Rashford felt "abandoned" at Villa Park after Asensio was bought permanently by the club but he was not. The England striker's return to Old Trafford is also unlikely, with coach Ruben Amorim almost completely removing the player from his plans for next season.

Rashford has rediscovered his form during a loan spell at Aston Villa, but his future beyond the summer remains unclear. The 27-year-old has fallen out of favour with manager Amorim.

Since moving to the Birmingham club, Rashford has become an important factor in the Aston Villa squad. Under the guidance of coach Unai Emery, Rashford scored 4 goals and assisted 6 times.

However, Rashford's season ended early due to a muscle injury. Earlier this month, according to Spanish media, the 27-year-old striker began preliminary talks with Barcelona over a possible transfer in the summer of 2025.

If Aston Villa hesitate to activate their £40m buyout clause in the summer, Rashford will prioritise a move to Barcelona.
