Roy Keane criticizes Man Utd's poor defense

"Where is the frustration of the players in the team? I watched the games very closely. They lacked quality and intensity. They scored two goals against Crystal Palace but defended like a pub team.

But this team is clearly not ready to win that position," former Man Utd player Roy Keane commented on Sky Sport when witnessing coach Ruben Amorim's army being held to a last-minute draw by West Ham at Old Trafford.

Diogo Dalot opened the scoring for Man Utd in the 58th minute, but the "Red Devils" could not maintain the lead when Soungoutou Magassa equalized in the 83rd minute.

This draw prevented Man Utd from equalizing points with Chelsea - the team currently ranked 4th in the Premier League. Instead, the Old Trafford team is still in 8th place but the gap with the top 4 is only 2 points.

However, after a series of three consecutive wins in October, the "Red Devils" have only won 1 of their last 5 Premier League matches.

That's why Roy Keane angrily criticized his old team, especially the poor defense that caused Man Utd to often lose points regrettably.

"They're just putting pressure on themselves. Every time I watch this Man Utd team, they're disappointing. They're not effective; they're not aggressive enough to get the job done.

People will be scratching their heads. One minute they were going well, winning games and could have gone up to fifth. Then they were disappointing. They need to show their character. In the last three or four games I think they have been poor. Really poor," said Roy Keane.

Roy Keane also added: "When you look at the squad, considering the money spent, they lack strength in depth. Especially in attack. I looked at Mason Mount when he came on, he looked like a schoolboy!

Everyone wants to see players who bring value to the team. But that was not seen tonight."

Sharing after the draw, coach Ruben Amorim also expressed his disappointment when he said: "We should have ended the match with a win because that was the team's goal.

The game was under control. We knew we had to defend far from the box because any set piece could be a problem. But we couldn't do that, we couldn't keep the ball and again we lost two points."
