Saigontourist Group mobilizes over 300 staff to serve the United Nations Vesak Festival 2025

Saigontourist Group is honored to be in charge of logistics and provide a team of professional volunteers to serve the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival in Ho Chi Minh City.

In the jubilant atmosphere of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, Saigon Tourist Group was honored to be entrusted by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City with the task of coordinating and supporting the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in taking charge of logistics and providing a team of professional volunteers to serve the United Nations Vesak Festival in 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City.

This important international Buddhist event will officially take place from May 6 to 8, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day, at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy - Campus 2, Le Minh Xuan Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.

The United Nations Day of Vesak 2025 (Vesak 2025) is an important event hosted by the Government of Vietnam, attracting the participation of a large number of Buddhists and visitors from the country and more than 80 countries around the world . The event contributes to introducing the image of the country and people of Vietnam as peace-loving, friendly, harmonious and united to international friends.

This is the fourth time Vietnam has hosted the Vesak Festival after three previous successful events in 2008 at the My Dinh National Convention Center (Hanoi), 2014 at Bai Dinh Pagoda (Ninh Binh Province) and 2019 at Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam Province).

To contribute to the success of the Vesak 2025, Saigontourist Group has mobilized over 300 professional staff in the field of guides, receptionists, and enthusiastic service staff who are eager to share and contribute from the General Office and 11 member units, including Saigontourist School of Tourism and Hospitality (STHC), Saigontourist Travel Services Company, Rex Saigon, Grand Saigon, Majestic Saigon, Caravelle Saigon, Continental Saigon, Kim Do, Oscar Saigon, De Nhat and Binh Quoi Tourist Village hotels.

To ensure that all preparations are thorough and professional, Saigontourist Group urgently implemented a training program for all staff participating in the service on May 4 and 5, 2025. The training program focuses on reception skills, service skills, knowledge of Buddhist culture and regulations of the Organizing Committee of the Great Festival, in order to provide a warm welcome and the best support for delegates and guests.

In addition to supporting the volunteer force, Saigontourist Group also coordinated with the Organizing Committee of the Great Ceremony to arrange hundreds of room nights to serve delegates attending this important and meaningful Great Ceremony. In particular, Saigontourist Group and its trusted member units are responsible for coordinating the organization and serving of receptions (vegetarian banquets) and tea parties for high-ranking leaders of countries, Buddhist organizations of countries, international guests and delegates attending the 2025 Great Vesak Festival. Majestic Saigon Hotel (under Saigontourist Group) is in charge of the reception program hosted by the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee at Thong Nhat Hall from 5:30 p.m. on May 5, 2025. Rex Saigon Hotel (under Saigontourist Group) organizes tea parties throughout the 3 days of the Great Ceremony from May 6 to 8, 2025 at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy.

At the same time, Saigontourist Group's member unit, Saigontourist Travel Service Company, proactively consulted and coordinated with localities to conduct field surveys and develop special tour programs on the occasion of the Great Festival, such as the tour to Binh Chanh - Tan Lap Floating Village connecting spirituality and nature, the 1-day tour Binh Chanh I love - Returning to the land of peace and happiness, attracting many Buddhists and people to participate.

Previously, following the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City leadership, Saigontourist Group was honored to coordinate with the Office of the People's Committee and the City's Departments and Branches to undertake logistics for the delegations attending the important event of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). With tens of thousands of delegates, including leaders and former leaders of the Party, State and Government through the periods, leaders of central ministries and branches, leaders and delegates of provinces and cities, cadres, soldiers, those who directly participated and contributed to the historic victory in the spring of 1975, along with intellectuals and delegations, international press reporters, Saigontourist Group provided comprehensive services before, during and after the event. Services include accommodation, meals, transportation, airport pick-up and drop-off, organizing tours to historical sites, red addresses, revisiting old battlefields and reception programs, and banquets organized and implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
