This morning, December 10, the Prime Minister had a dialogue with farmers.

On the morning of December 10th, at the Government Headquarters, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, in coordination with the Government Office and various ministries and agencies, organized the Conference on the Prime Minister's Dialogue with Vietnamese Farmers in 2025.

This is an annual event that has taken place in recent years. The conference is held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation. At the main venue, the Government headquarters, there are approximately 300 delegates, including more than 150 exemplary farmers.

The Prime Minister will hold a dialogue with farmers in 2024.

At 34 locations across provinces and cities, provincial and city leaders, representatives from departments and agencies, farmers' associations, farmers, cooperatives, and businesses from those localities participated.

The 2025 Prime Minister's Conference for Dialogue with Vietnamese Farmers has the theme "Applying Science and Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation in Farmers".

The conference is of great significance to evaluate and summarize the results achieved in the past 5 years, the last year of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress on ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers and the third year of implementing Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas to 2030; vision to 2045.

To prepare for this year's dialogue conference, the Central Committee of the Farmers' Association has sent a document requesting the farmers' associations in provinces and cities to organize the collection and reception of opinions, suggestions, and recommendations from farmers.

At the same time, instruct and direct the Rural Today Newspaper/Dan Viet Online to open a special section "Farmers send their thoughts to the Prime Minister" and other channels for receiving feedback.

As a result, after a short period, more than 5,000 opinions, suggestions, and recommendations from farmers, businesses, and cooperatives were compiled and sent to the Government and the Prime Minister.

The proposals and recommendations focus on five main areas where farmers want the government to continue addressing and resolving issues.

Firstly, there should be mechanisms and policies to promote cooperation and the transfer of scientific and technological applications in the production, harvesting, preservation, and processing of agricultural products for farmers.

Second, policies and solutions on credit, taxes, and capital support for farmers to invest in developing high-tech, organic, circular, low-emission agriculture, herbal and endemic products; connecting and supporting the consumption of agricultural products, especially the promotion and introduction of agricultural product consumption in the digital environment.

Thirdly, strengthen solutions and measures for managing and controlling the quality of agricultural inputs, stabilizing the prices of agricultural inputs; addressing issues of counterfeit, fake, and substandard goods; and ensuring food safety.

Fourth, prioritize investment in agricultural and rural infrastructure, especially internet infrastructure in remote areas, flood and landslide warning systems; and mechanisms and policies to support post-flood production recovery.

Fifth, regarding the planning of specialized farming areas, brand development, key agricultural sectors, and solutions to support farmers' participation; addressing difficulties and obstacles in the concentration and accumulation of agricultural land, unlocking land resources for agricultural and rural development, and creating sustainable livelihoods.
