This morning opened the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

This morning (October 17), in Hanoi , the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) for the 2024-2029 term (the congress) will solemnly open. General Secretary andPresident To Lam is expected to attend and give a speech.
On October 16, on the first working day of the congress, delegates listened to the draft Report reviewing the activities of the Central Committee, the Presidium and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX, 2019 - 2024. The congress also listened to the report on amending and supplementing the charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX. Accordingly, the draft proposed amending and supplementing the first part and 6/37 articles. Specifically, amending the regular meeting regime of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front from once a year to twice a year to conform to the information, reporting and orientation regime, and providing timely opinions on the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. At the same time, amending and supplementing to clearly demonstrate the authority of the Standing Committee; the Presidium, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in establishing the Advisory Council at the Central level, according to the regulations of the Politburo .

At the congress, delegates voted to approve the amended and supplemented charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. On October 17, after the morning opening session, in the afternoon the congress will divide into discussion groups and conduct consultations to elect the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2024-2029 term. After that, the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will hold its first conference.
