Vietnamese-origin star helps Laos team defeat Nepal

The Laos football team had their first win in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup when they defeated Nepal 2-1 at home.

On the evening of June 10, in Vientiane, the Laos team had a memorable match when they won against Nepal. Two goals from Damoth Thongkhamsavath and Peter Phanthavong helped the home team win all three points in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

However, the visitors then responded. In the 72nd minute, Nepal scored an equalizer from the 11m mark, thanks to Manish Dangi. Before that, the referee determined that a Nepalese player had been fouled in the Laos penalty area.

However, the final minutes of the match were not enough for the visitors to find an equalizer. In the end, Laos won 2-1 and got the first three points in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Laos' next two matches will be a home match against Malaysia on September 10 and an away match against the same opponent on October 14.
