The combination of landscape, agriculture and indigenous culture is opening up a new direction, making Ta Nang an attractive destination, both enhancing the value of agricultural products and creating sustainable livelihoods for people.
The Ta Nang - Phan Dung trekking route is about 55 km long and has long been known as the most beautiful and challenging trekking route in Southeast Asia. With terrain varying from 500 m - 1,100 m above sea level, visitors are guided through lush pine forests, vast grasslands and endless grassy hillsides.
Each season, the landscape changes its appearance: the rainy season is green and the dry season is golden, creating a charming and vibrant natural picture. This beauty attracts tens of thousands of domestic and foreign tourists every year, and many international travel companies have included this route in their Vietnam discovery itinerary for adventure-loving travelers.
The experiences of trekking through forests, climbing slopes, camping under the stars and watching the sunrise on the sea of clouds make Ta Nang - Phan Dung an irresistible tourist "magnet".
Not only nature, Ta Nang agriculture is also bringing new colors. Among the vast coffee gardens, red-fleshed dragon fruit gardens are growing more and more, proving the bold transformation of local farmers.
Mr. Phan Thanh Tuan's dragon fruit garden with more than 7,000 bright red pillars during harvest season not only brings a stable income but also becomes a destination for many farmers and tourists to visit, take photos, and learn from each other's experiences.
The entire Ta Nang commune currently has more than 8,700 hectares of agricultural land, of which about 500 hectares apply high technology. The main crops are coffee, rice, macadamia, along with many models of vegetables and flowers in greenhouses following VietGAP and organic standards. The locality also has an OCOP product "coffee-flavored dried beef" with 3-star certification and is developing dried macadamia and corn milk.
Vast rice fields, mulberry gardens, and organic rice fields are highlights that can be associated with agricultural tours, helping visitors experience the production process associated with indigenous culture.
With 78% of the population being ethnic minorities, Ta Nang is also rich in cultural identity, from brocade weaving to traditional festivals. This is a valuable resource for developing community tourism, where visitors can immerse themselves in gong dances, enjoy ethnic cuisine and learn about daily life. The combination of trekking, agricultural and cultural tourism is creating a colorful picture, both attractive and different from many other destinations.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Dien - Secretary of the Party Committee of Ta Nang commune said that the commune is oriented to replicate effective crop conversion models such as dragon fruit, developing high-tech agriculture associated with agricultural tourism. According to Mr. Dien, combining agriculture with tourism will create synergistic values: tourists can experience the production space, participate in harvesting agricultural products, and enjoy local specialties; while farmers have additional income and motivation to expand commodity production. When agricultural products are associated with tourism, their value will be enhanced thanks to stable output and the local brand is affirmed.
The resonance between natural landscape, agriculture and culture not only helps Ta Nang diversify its tourism products but also opens up opportunities for sustainable development. This is the way for the locality to fully exploit the potential of land, climate, cultural identity, and at the same time, turn tourism into an important driving force to promote socio-economic development, creating long-term livelihoods for the people.
With the Ta Nang - Phan Dung trekking route as the central highlight, combining high-tech agriculture and indigenous culture, Ta Nang is gradually affirming its position as an attractive destination on the Lam Dong tourism map.
