Infrastructure planning at the end of October: A series of major projects were approved

The Government added the Hanoi - Quang Ninh high-speed railway, Ho Chi Minh City finalized the progress of many intersections and proposed to expand key routes across the country.

Official approval of Hanoi - Quang Ninh high-speed railway

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has approved the adjustment of the Railway Network Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, the Government has officially added the planning for the Hanoi - Quang Ninh high-speed railway route.

This route is 124 km long, starting from Co Loa station (connecting with Hanoi's urban railway No. 4) and ending at Ha Long Xanh station (Quang Ninh). The investment roadmap for the project is determined to be before 2030.

Ho Chi Minh City speeds up a series of key traffic projects

Over the past week, Ho Chi Minh City has made many important moves to promote major traffic infrastructure projects, from finalizing the completion time of trillion-dollar intersections to proposing the expansion of many key routes.

Finalize completion time of An Phu and My Thuy intersection

According to the conclusion of Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong, many items at An Phu intersection (total investment capital of 3,400 billion VND) will be completed according to the scheduled schedule. After nearly 3 years of construction, the project has reached more than 70% of the volume. For My Thuy intersection, with a total investment of 3,449 billion VND, the expected time to complete the entire project is April 30, 2026.

Proposal to expand National Highway 22 with capital of more than 10,400 billion VND

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has agreed on a plan to implement the project to upgrade National Highway 22, from An Suong intersection to Ring Road 3, under the form of public-private partnership (BOT contract). The road will be expanded to 60m with 10 lanes. The total investment of the project is 10,424 billion VND.

Upgrading Nguyen Tat Thanh Street with nearly 3,000 billion VND

The Department of Construction has proposed a plan to upgrade and expand Nguyen Tat Thanh Street (old District 4), the route connecting the city center with the South of the city. The project includes expanding a 2.5 km long section of the road to 6-8 lanes, building a 4-lane Hoang Dieu underpass and replacing Tan Thuan 1 Bridge. The total estimated investment is about VND2,950 billion.

Proposal to extend the metro line connecting Can Gio - Ben Thanh

VinSpeed ​​High-Speed ​​Railway Investment and Development Joint Stock Company has proposed extending the metro line from Can Gio to Ben Thanh, connecting directly with the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line, instead of stopping only in South Saigon as in the old plan. This elevated train line is expected to be about 48.5 km long.

Six North-South expressway projects will open to traffic by the end of the year

Six component projects of the North-South Expressway phase two are being accelerated to be technically opened to traffic by the end of this year, including: Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon (88 km), Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon (more than 70 km), Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh (65 km), Chi Thanh - Van Phong (more than 48 km), and Can Tho - Ca Mau (nearly 111 km, including two component projects).

Hue plans new urban areas to solve flooding

After severe flooding caused by heavy rains, Hue City proposed planning new urban areas, industrial zones and concentrated residential areas in high areas such as mountain slopes and valleys. This solution aims to exploit land with better infrastructure conditions, especially water resources, to minimize the impact of future flooding.
