At the event on August 18th, Bamboo Airways officially launched all domestic flights from Terminal T1 to the new Terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Mr. Truong Phuong Thanh stated that the "bottlenecks" have been addressed.
Mr. Thanh frankly acknowledged that the recent turmoil in Bamboo's leadership mainly stemmed from the investors. Each investor has a different management and operational approach based on their own objectives. Over the past two years, the airline has faced numerous difficulties and obstacles.
To date, the airline has found a direction and a way to overcome the challenges. Once the "bottlenecks" are resolved, the CEO of Bamboo Airways believes that capital flows will be unlocked, creating a foundation for the airline's more sustainable development.
According to him, Bamboo will continue to uphold the three core values that passengers expect: service quality, safety, and on-time performance. Furthermore, the airline's goal is to become a "digital airline."
Earlier on August 13th, Bamboo announced that Mr. Truong Phuong Thanh had become the new CEO, replacing Mr. Luong Hoai Nam, and Mr. Le Thai Sam had taken over as Chairman of the Board of Directors, replacing Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh, who had only been in office for over a month.
On the first day of operation at Terminal 3, only one passenger took the wrong route.
On the same day, Bamboo Airways transferred all its domestic operations to Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat Airport. Reports indicate only one passenger mistakenly entered the wrong terminal that morning and received timely assistance. At Terminal 3, Bamboo Airways arranged check-in procedures at counters 45-50 (opposite gates D2 and D3), with the flexibility to expand to counters 43-52 depending on demand. The last-minute ticket counter was placed right at gate D2 for easy passenger access.
Specifically, from August 18th to 25th, the airline is implementing a policy of offering free ticket changes for passengers who missed their flights due to not having updated information on the station change, waiving the price difference and prioritizing transfers to the nearest available flight on the same route.
For routes with only one flight per day, passengers will be assisted in transferring to a flight on the following day.
Currently, besides Vietnam Airlines , Tan Son Nhat Terminal 3 already has Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, Vietravel Airlines, and Vasco operating domestic flights. Vietjet will operate from Terminal 1.
