Strengthening cooperation between the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions in Gyeonggi Province and Nghe An Trade Union

The delegation of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, Gyeonggi Province, was led by Mr. Min Han Gi - Head of Administration Department. Welcoming the delegation, on behalf of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation, there was Mr. Kha Van Tam - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation; Representatives of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Nghe An Province and the Provincial Labor Federation Committees.

The friendly cooperation relationship between Nghe An province and Gyeonggi province was established in 2009 and signed again in 2014. Gyeonggi province is the most important region in terms of politics , economy and culture of Korea, with the most developed economy. This province is also where many Vietnamese and Nghe An workers come to live and work.

Nghe An's economic situation has seen positive growth in recent years, especially attracting foreign direct investment with positive results, rising to 8th place out of 63 provinces and cities by the end of 2024. Currently, there are 24 projects of Korean enterprises in Nghe An, with a total investment capital of nearly 170 million USD, creating jobs for about 15,000 workers. Nghe An is also one of the localities with many workers going to work in Korea, with more than 5,000 people from 2018 to present.

At the seminar, the two units presented the organization and results of the Union's activities in the past time. Accordingly, Nghe An Union also shared the challenges and difficulties of the organization in the new context. For more information about the 20th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Union, term 2025-2030, representatives of Nghe An Union also shared the orientation of activities in the period 2025-2030 and key tasks.

At the same time, the two units had in-depth discussions on issues of mutual concern such as organization and experience of trade union activities in Korean enterprises; regulations and experience in protecting trade union officials in Korea; Exchanges on Vietnamese workers in Korea such as recruitment regulations, the situation of Vietnamese workers in Gyeonggi, the interest of Korean trade unions in Vietnamese workers, the right to join trade unions, etc.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Kha Van Tam expressed his joy at receiving the delegation of the Korean Trade Union Federation in Gyeonggi Province. Looking back at the 15-year process of exchange and development cooperation, the Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation believes that the event will be a meaningful turning point in the relationship between the two provinces and the cooperation between Nghe An Trade Union and Gyeonggi Provincial Trade Union will increasingly develop.
