Strengthening cooperation in the field of sports between Vietnam and India

Thanking Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir for taking the time to visit and work at the Vietnam Sports Department, Deputy Director Le Thi Hoang Yen said that the current Vietnam - India sports cooperation is at the level of Sports Associations and Federations.

Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration received and worked with Ms. T. Ajungla Jamir - Deputy Ambassador of the Indian Embassy in Vietnam on April 18.

In recent years, the two sides have had many effective cooperation activities in the field of sports. Notably, the two sides have sent sports teams to compete in the Games and sports events held in each country. Every year, the Indian government grants Yoga scholarships to Vietnamese candidates.

Deputy Director Le Thi Hoang Yen was also pleased to announce that in response to International Yoga Day, Vietnam organized a variety of activities in many localities attracting the attention and participation of thousands of people.

Appreciating India as a country with a developed sports industry in the continent with many strong sports such as: Yoga, Archery, Athletics... Therefore, Deputy Director Le Thi Hoang Yen expressed her desire to cooperate more deeply with India in this field, including high-performance sports and grassroots sports.

Specifically, for Athletics and Archery, Vietnam hopes that India will send experts to support training, support training and competition equipment as well as support Vietnamese athletes to come to India to practice and compete. Along with that, it is necessary to further promote sports activities for women, typically Yoga.

Deputy Director Le Thi Hoang Yen hopes that through this cooperation, the two sides can share valuable experiences in the field of sports and physical training as well as effectively implement activities that contribute to further tightening the relationship between the two countries.

Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir thanked Deputy Director Le Thi Hoang Yen for taking the time to welcome her and for her high appreciation of the cooperation results between the two sides. Sharing at the meeting, Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir said that although he had just taken up his assignment in Vietnam, he had already felt the warmth of the people and the closeness of Vietnamese culture and cuisine .

Regarding the field of sports, Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir emphasized that Vietnam has many good achievements, especially in Archery and Football. Therefore, she wants to promote cooperation at the Federation level for these sports. Taking this opportunity, Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir also hopes that the Archery and Football Federations of the two countries will meet, exchange information and inspect the infrastructure of each side. Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir also expressed his willingness to act as a bridge for the Federations of the two sides to have a smooth cooperation process.

Regarding Yoga, Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir highly appreciated the strong development of the movement in Vietnam. In order to prepare for a successful and meaningful International Yoga Day this year, Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir hopes to receive support from the Vietnam Sports Administration.

Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir hopes that through this meeting, it will pave the way for future activities, especially for Yoga, Athletics and Archery. However, not only stopping at these sports, Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir will also actively coordinate and create conditions for the two sides to develop and expand to many other sports. Regarding the proposals of Athletics and Archery, Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir assessed that this is a good idea and will discuss with relevant agencies so that the two sides can specify future cooperation activities.

Agreeing with the views of Deputy Ambassador Ajungla Jamir, Deputy Director Le Thi Hoang Yen hopes to soon concretize the contents discussed at the working session in order to effectively implement activities related to the sports and physical training fields of the two countries in the coming time.
