
On the morning of October 22, the Tax Department in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) held the opening ceremony of a training course on e-commerce with the theme "Tax inspection of e-commerce business activities".
Speaking at the opening of the course, Head of the E-commerce Tax Department Cap Quy Phuc said that in recent years, the strong development of e-commerce has been profoundly changing the way businesses operate globally. Along with the great opportunities that e-commerce brings to businesses and consumers, tax administration, especially the inspection and supervision of tax obligations in this field, also poses many new challenges for tax authorities.
In that context, equipping knowledge, skills and professional tools to improve the effectiveness of tax inspection for e-commerce activities is an urgent requirement. Therefore, the training course with the theme "Tax inspection for e-commerce business activities" held today is an important activity. The course is within the framework of the cooperation program between JICA and the Tax Department, with the goal of supporting capacity building for tax officials and civil servants in adapting to rapid changes in the digital environment.

“Within the framework of the program, trainees will be updated on issues of consumption tax on cross-border transactions; methods of inspecting enterprises with e-commerce activities; inspecting cross-border e-commerce suppliers; tax risks as well as methods and tools for inspection and supervision. At the same time, this is also a forum for us to share practical experiences, difficulties and problems, thereby finding suitable solutions for tax management in this field” - Head of the Department Cap Quy Phuc emphasized.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Noguchi Daisuke, representative of JICA, expressed his joy at accompanying the Tax Department in training and capacity building for the Vietnamese tax sector's civil servants. He said that in the context of e-commerce developing strongly globally, building an effective, transparent and suitable tax management mechanism for the digital economy is a common challenge for many countries, including Vietnam.

The JICA representative also emphasized that the course is not only an opportunity for professional exchange but also an opportunity to strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding between Japanese experts and Vietnamese tax officials. Mr. Noguchi Daisuke expressed his belief that the knowledge and experience gained from the training course will help trainees improve their practical capacity, effectively apply it to professional work, and contribute to promoting the digital transformation process in the tax sector in Vietnam.
The training course "Tax inspection of e-commerce business activities" took place in 2 days, October 22-23, with the main contents including: Efforts of the e-commerce inspection team; methods of inspection of e-commerce enterprises; methods of inspection and supervision of the system; digital investigation; feedback to the platform; inspection and inspection of cross-border e-commerce suppliers.
With the knowledge shared in the course and the active exchange and sharing of practical experiences, and contributions to the training program, each trainee has gained more knowledge, experience and motivation to effectively apply it to practical work, contributing to improving professional capacity and enhancing the effectiveness of tax management for e-commerce activities in the context of a strongly developing digital economy.
