Strengthening the implementation of forest protection management, forest fire prevention and fighting

Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen has just signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 3840/UBND-NNMT dated July 1, 2025 on strengthening the implementation of forest protection management, forest fire prevention and fighting, and forestry land management in Hanoi city.

Accordingly, the City People's Committee requested departments, branches and local authorities to strictly implement the City People's Committee's documents on strengthening forest protection management, forest fire prevention and fighting, and handling the situation of illegal leveling and construction of houses on forestry land.

People's Committees of communes and wards with forests must strengthen and enhance the activities of local forest fire prevention and fighting command boards, ensuring that specialized forest protection teams operate effectively and promptly prevent and handle deforestation and forest fires occurring in the locality.

At the same time, continue to implement programs and plans on forest management, protection, forest fire prevention and fighting and forestry land management in 2025 of the People's Committees of districts and towns with forests that have been and are being transferred to new communes and wards to ensure progress, time and regulations of the law.

People's Committees of communes and wards with forests review, adjust, and develop plans for forest protection, forest fire prevention and fighting, and forestry land management in accordance with current legal regulations and local realities for effective implementation; develop forest fire prevention and fighting plans according to the "4 on-site" motto, scenarios suitable to local conditions to promptly extinguish fires when forest fires occur, and evacuate people, assets, and warehouses from areas at risk of forest fires.

In addition, the People's Committees of communes and wards with forests should strengthen coordination with the police and forest rangers in performing the tasks of forest management and protection, forest fire prevention and fighting, and forestry land management; and strictly handle violations of forestry laws according to law.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment directs the Forest Protection Department and the Wildlife Rescue Center to seriously perform their assigned functions and tasks according to regulations to manage and protect forests, develop forests, prevent and fight forest fires, and manage forestry land in the city...
