Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Tuoi Tre Newspaper donated 1 billion VND to support Da Nang workers after the flood.

On the afternoon of November 4, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Tuoi Tre Newspaper presented 1 billion VND in support to the Da Nang City Labor Federation, sharing with workers affected by recent floods.

Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and representatives of Tuoi Tre Newspaper presented 1 billion VND in support to the Da Nang City Labor Federation - of which the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor supported 500 million VND, and Tuoi Tre Newspaper readers supported 500 million VND.

At the ceremony, the delegation also sent 30 gifts from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to union members of the 29-3 Textile Joint Stock Company who suffered heavy damage in the recent floods.

Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu shared his deep sympathy for the losses of workers and employees at this company and Da Nang in general after the storm and flood. At the same time, he acknowledged the proactive and timely spirit of the Da Nang City Labor Federation in planning to visit and support the affected workers: "Every penny of support, every word of encouragement at this time is very valuable, helping workers have more strength to overcome difficulties," Mr. Hieu emphasized.

Receiving 2 million VND in cash support, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Dang (An Trach village, Hoa Tien commune, Da Nang city), a worker at 29-3 Textile Joint Stock Company, said that her family has to raise two small children, with an unstable income, so she was very touched when the General Confederation of Labor, Tuoi Tre Newspaper and the City Trade Union showed their concern and support. "Many items and rice were damaged after the flood, now receiving this gift really warms our hearts," Ms. Dang said.
