The inspection team led by the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City inspected the operation of the 220kV Thot Not transformer station, Thot Not district.
The Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City has just coordinated with the Western Power Transmission 1 and Can Tho City Power Company to organize a delegation to inspect transformer stations and 110kV, 220kV and 22kV power lines operating and supplying electricity to the city. Accordingly, the delegation inspected the 110kV Long Hoa - Can Tho power line passing through Cuu Long Residential Area, Long Hoa Ward, Binh Thuy District; inspected the operation of the 220kV Thot Not transformer station; inspected many construction works of expressways and traffic routes located in or near the safety corridor of the 220kV and 110kV power grids; Inspect the 220kV Rach Gia - O Mon 2 line and the 220kV Thot Not - Rach Gia line, where it intersects with the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway under construction... Through the inspection, the Delegation requested construction units of traffic routes and expressways located within the high-voltage power grid corridor to maintain a minimum safe distance of 4 meters from the power line to the nearest point of equipment, tools, and working vehicles within the high-voltage power grid safety protection corridor; at the same time, install warning signs and electrical safety instructions for people performing construction tasks at works located within or near the high-voltage power grid. At the same time, the City Department of Industry and Trade also organizes surprise inspections to promptly detect and handle violations of the high-voltage grid safety corridor, thereby requiring units managing and operating the high-voltage grid to increase measures to ensure electrical safety for power lines, transformer stations and critical loads... to ensure safe and reliable power supply, serving the production and business needs and daily life of the city's residents.
According to Mr. Nguyen Dang Duy, Head of Safety Department, Can Tho City Electricity Company, in the first months of 2025, the Company has coordinated with relevant units to clear 110kV and 22kV power lines; trim trees that are at risk of causing incidents, to maintain distance, ensuring safe operation of the power grid corridor managed by the unit. At the same time, well carry out the inspection of power lines and transformer stations supplying power to state agencies, headquarters and locations organizing important cultural and political events of the city; at the same time, strengthen propaganda work to individuals and construction units of projects to upgrade and expand traffic routes near high-voltage power grid corridors... to well implement electrical safety measures, to prevent and avoid cases of electric discharge or explosion caused by electricity.
Identifying the propaganda of legal regulations on electrical safety as one of the important goals to protect the safety of high-voltage power grid corridors, the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City, together with the units managing and operating high-voltage power grids, has been promoting propaganda work in many forms, such as distributing leaflets, combining instructions for units, organizations and people living near high-voltage power grids to implement measures to prevent electrical accidents; disseminating legal regulations on protecting high-voltage power grid safety corridors to help people, organizations and units grasp the provisions of the law as well as know the measures to prevent and avoid violations of electrical safety when constructing works near high-voltage power grid corridors... Thereby, contributing to minimizing the risks of unsafety occurring, interrupting the power supply process as well as the safety of equipment, works and people.
In order for the high-voltage grid to operate with high reliability and in accordance with the provisions of the law on electrical safety, the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City requires the units managing and operating the high-voltage grid to continue to promote electrical safety propaganda to the people and the units that are constructing works where power lines pass through... to strictly comply with the regulations on protecting the safety corridor of the power grid; at the same time, strengthen the inspection and review of power lines and transformer stations managed by the units, in order to detect housing construction works, site leveling, tree planting... that are likely to violate the safety corridor of the power grid. Thereby, helping to improve the efficiency of management and operation of high-voltage grid works, meeting the requirements of stable power supply, serving the socio-economic development of the city.
