TPO - The competition event "Trigger Promotion 5" co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Boxing Federation, Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television (HTV) and Trigger Boxing successfully ended last night, October 25, welcomed by a large number of professional boxing fans. Exploding after 6 fierce and tense rounds, veteran boxer Nguyen Van Hai overcame his young opponent Cao Quoc Viet in the much-awaited boxing match.

Trigger Promotion is one of the few professional boxing tournaments with a scale and sustainable development orientation not only in Ho Chi Minh City but also expanding its influence nationwide.

Among the eight matches, the focus of attention of fans was the match between former national athlete Nguyen Van Hai ( Hanoi ) and rising young boxer Cao Quoc Viet (Trigger Boxing Club) in the Super Lightweight (63.5 kg) category. The audience could not take their eyes off every development during the 6 hot and fiery rounds between the two boxers representing two generations.

15 years younger, taller and heavier, Cao Quoc Viet is only less experienced than his senior opponent who has won the national championship 14 times; won two silver medals and a bronze medal in boxing at the SEA Games... The match was quite balanced when the two boxers gave the audience a satisfying performance, with fiery attacks.

With extensive experience, courage and the ability to control the match, Nguyen Van Hai won convincingly after 6 rounds, affirming his class as one of the three most representative names of Vietnamese boxing, alongside Tran Van Thao and Truong Dinh Hoang.

Having participated in many international tournaments and impressed with a knockout in just 12 seconds against Abdul Motalib at the WBO Global Prelude 2023 event, with the victory at Trigger Promotion 5, Nguyen Van Hai continues to prove his top form and pioneering role in promoting professional boxing in Vietnam.

In other matches, including many career opening matches for many boxers, boxers Nguyen Tan Ngoc (welterweight), Tran Huynh Bao Luan (featherweight), Ho Van Sanh (lightweight), Nguyen Minh Hau (lightweight), Vo Chi Tam (bantamweight), Luc Van Phuoc (bantamweight)... won.

The event "Trigger Promotion 5" brings together many top boxers, not only a fighting arena of strength and technique but also a place to demonstrate the martial spirit and passion for boxing that is spreading strongly among Vietnamese youth.

This is also the first professional boxing event in 2025 to be broadcast live on HTV Sports .

Sharing about the long-term orientation, Mr. Trinh Van Tri - founder of Trigger Boxing Club - said: "We plan to organize 4-5 tournaments a year so that boxers have more opportunities to compete, improve their skills and have a stable source of income. When they have an economic foundation, they will have the conditions to pursue their passion long-term."

The Trigger Promotion Tournament was approved by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City to organize, affirming the efforts of the city's sports community in building a healthy, modern and internationally integrated sports environment.
