Tennis player Ly Hoang Nam must treat stomach disease

Today, Coach Tran Quoc Phong said that after returning from Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Ly Hoang Nam was taken to Ho Chi Minh City for a gastroscopy. The doctor concluded that Vietnam's No. 1 tennis player had reflux esophagitis and severe gastric mucosal congestion.

Ly Hoang Nam will have to rest for at least a week to treat a stomach illness.

"With such an illness, Ly Hoang Nam will have to focus on treatment for about 7 to 10 days and then come back for a check-up. Hoang Nam's upcoming training and competitions will also have to change. We will wait until he is cured before deciding what to do next," said coach Tran Quoc Phong.

Remember before the men's singles final match of the 32nd SEA Games against tennis player Fitriadi (Indonesia), despite being tormented by stomach pain and having a high fever, Ly Hoang Nam still decided to play. He lost to his opponent and could not defend the gold medal he had won two consecutive times before.

SEA Games 32 tennis is not included in the professional tennis scoring system, so Ly Hoang Nam will not be deducted points on the ATP rankings.
