Today (September 4) in Ho Chi Minh City, the organizing committee of the Vietnam Open Badminton Tournament announced the 2025 season with many highlights in terms of expertise and organization. In which, Vietnam's No. 1 badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh confirmed her participation in the tournament and with the world ranking of 18, she was chosen as the No. 1 seed in the women's singles.

Talented and beautiful, Nguyen Thuy Linh has a lot of fans. She won the women's singles championship in 3 consecutive seasons of the Vietnam Open badminton tournament from 2022 to 2024. Before returning to Ho Chi Minh City to defend her championship title, Nguyen Thuy Linh won the right to enter the round of 16 of the women's singles at the World Badminton Championship after defeating very strong opponents such as former world champion Ratchanok Intanon (Thailand, ranked 10th in the world).

Although she is the most promising candidate for the women's singles championship at the 2025 Vietnam Open badminton tournament, coaches believe that Nguyen Thuy Linh also has "tough" competitors such as Tanvi Sharma (India), Cai Yan Yan (China), Han Ga Eun, Kim Min Sun (Korea). Among them, 17-year-old Tanvi Sharma was the one who defeated Thuy Linh at the 2025 US Open badminton tournament. The opponents have the potential to create surprises, but the Dong Nai player expressed her determination to defend her championship title when playing at home, with the support of a large number of fans.

The 2025 Vietnam Open Badminton Tournament attracts nearly 300 players to compete in men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. The tournament has a total prize money of 110,000 USD (about 2.8 billion VND).
