Appraisal and approval of Duc Hoa urban master plan to 2045

Pursuant to Decision No. 952/QD-TTg dated August 15, 2023 of the Prime Minister on approving the task of the General Urban Planning of Duc Hoa, Long An province to 2045, the People's Committee of Long An province organized the preparation of the general urban planning project of Duc Hoa to 2045.

The planning has specified the orientation of urban and rural system planning, regional planning, provincial planning and specialized planning; building and developing Duc Hoa urban area to become an industrial, urban and service development pole in the Northeast of the province, closely linked with Ho Chi Minh City; towards 2030, Duc Hoa urban area will meet the criteria of a type III urban area and become a city of Long An province.

The planning scope of the entire administrative boundary of Duc Hoa district includes 3 towns and 17 communes, with a total area of ​​about 42,511 hectares.

The Duc Hoa urban master plan aims to build an ecological, modern, and unique industrial city, balancing socio-economic development and the environment. With a long-term vision and synchronous solutions, Duc Hoa will become an important driving force, contributing to promoting the sustainable development of Long An province.

At the working session, members of the appraisal council gave their opinions on the general urban planning of Duc Hoa until 2045, including contributions related to a number of contents on assessing natural conditions, potentials, advantages of the locality, planning indicators, connecting traffic infrastructure, land use needs, etc.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An province - Nguyen Van Ut received comments from ministries, branches and experts. At the same time, he also shared that Duc Hoa is one of the key districts that is strongly developing in industry, contributing to the province's economic growth. The district's state budget collection also leads the province.

Duc Hoa is also the first district in the province to develop industry. The province also has a roadmap for developing key localities and regions. Duc Hoa district will develop strongly in industry, urban areas, trade - services, and a part of high-value agricultural production.

Regarding the traffic infrastructure connecting Duc Hoa district, both the province and the district have orientations and plans for the construction and development of a traffic infrastructure system connecting with Ho Chi Minh City and other regions, with planning orientations according to the spatial structure of each industry and field.

At the appraisal session, 100% of the appraisal council members voted to approve the Duc Hoa Urban Master Plan until 2045 after the province received and completed the plan according to the comments of the appraisal council members.

Deputy Minister of Construction - Nguyen Tuong Van said that the Duc Hoa urban master plan until 2045 focuses on investment research and ensures quality according to regulations. He also highly appreciated Duc Hoa district because the locality has a favorable location, potential, is one of the developing districts of the province, and is a gateway for trade between Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast region and the Mekong Delta provinces. Thereby, the Deputy Minister of Construction requested Long An province to soon supplement and complete the plan and send it to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal and submission to the Prime Minister for approval./.

The Provincial People's Council organized a thematic conference to meet voters and consult with the people on the draft of the Duc Hoa Urban Master Plan.
