'Underground' beauty salon removes sign, pays victims after Tuoi Tre investigation

Two victims have just happily announced that they have been refunded their money by the owner of the underground cosmetic surgery facility in Busan (Da Nang) after a series of investigative articles "Exposing the tricks of underground cosmetic surgery" published in Tuoi Tre newspaper.

On June 30, Ms. Hoa (name changed), the character appearing in part 2 of the investigative series "Exposing the tricks of underground private area cosmetic surgery", confirmed that she had received 16 million VND back from this facility.

Previously, because of the advertisement that this was the second facility of Da Nang Hospital, Dr. Lan worked at the hospital that she came to "renovate her private area".

She was then manipulated by a person calling herself "Doctor Lan" at Busan Cosmetic Hospital (120 Quang Trung, Da Nang) based on fear, right when she was lying on the operating table. Initially, the service was quoted at 2 million VND, but the "doctor" "faked the illness" while performing the procedure, pushing the total cost up to 22 million VND. Ms. Hoa only paid 16 million VND with her and refused the offer to borrow money through a third party, finding an excuse to flee the cosmetic facility.

After the procedure, her private area showed signs of deformation and severe infection. Despite repeatedly contacting the clinic to request a partial refund of the cost of medical examination, she received no response from the cosmetic clinic.

On the evening of June 27, after the story was published in Tuoi Tre newspaper, she texted the facility to inform them that she would report it to the police. That same night, she unexpectedly received a transfer of exactly 16 million VND from an account under the name of Ngo Thi Van - the person believed to be the owner of the facility.

The reporter also recorded another victim who had been cheated out of 18 million VND by "Doctor Lan" and had 7 million VND returned.

According to records, Busan Cosmetic Hospital at the above address has removed its signboard after a series of investigative articles revealed a series of tricks of "faking illnesses to extort money".

Previously, Tuoi Tre investigated and exposed a series of illegal cosmetic facilities in Da Nang and revealed a network of fake doctors and hospitals to lure customers to illegal "private area" cosmetic facilities in many provinces and cities. The series of articles attracted special attention from the public.

Currently, the authorities are verifying related information after Tuoi Tre 's reflection.
