As predicted by the coaches, LPBank Ninh Binh Club created many surprises in the semi-finals of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship against Sanest Khanh Hoa Club, even though they only ranked 4th after the qualifying round while their opponent was the defending champion and the winner of the qualifying round.
Sanest Khanh Hoa Club secured a hard-fought victory against Ninh Binh Club in the semi-finals of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship.
The outstanding performance of Nguyen Thanh Hai, along with the effective attacking capabilities of Thai foreign player Napadet, helped former champions Ninh Binh unexpectedly dominate Sanest Khanh Hoa, winning the first set 25/21.
Maintaining their momentum, the Ninh Binh players continued to create difficulties for Tu Thanh Thuan and Sanest Khanh Hoa. Coach Bui Trung Thao's team built a 5-point lead, putting the team from Nha Trang in a precarious situation. Fortunately for Sanest Khanh Hoa, their Brazilian foreign player Evandro de Souza shone at the right moment, securing a 27/25 victory and leveling the score at 1-1, much to the disappointment of the Ninh Binh players.
Having secured a place in the final, Sanest Khánh Hòa Club is ready to aim for defending its championship title.
Having successfully "escaped" defeat, the Sanest Khánh Hòa players dominated in the third set, winning convincingly 25/18. The overall victory seemed within reach for the defending champions when they led 24/22, but foreign player Napadet stepped up to secure a dramatic 28/26 win for Ninh Bình Club, leveling the score at 2-2.
The drama intensified in the decisive fifth set as players from both teams fiercely contested points. The composure of the Khánh Hòa players was evident at the crucial moment, securing a 19/17 victory and a 3-2 win overall, earning them the first ticket to the final of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship.
Sanest Khánh Hòa Club's opponent in the final of the 2024 National Volleyball Championship, taking place on December 1st, will be the winner of the semi-final match between Biên Phòng Club and Thể Công Club.
