Chatchu-on Moksri received the pioneer seal
Recently, the Thai Volleyball Federation surprised fans when it announced that the main striker Chatchu-on Moksri will take on the role of captain of the national women's volleyball team at the upcoming SEA Games. This decision marks the generational transition of Thai women's volleyball and absolute trust in the talent born in 1999. Although still quite young, Chatchu-on has been a pillar of Thai women's volleyball for many years.
Sharing his feelings after taking on the great responsibility, new captain Chatchu-on could not hide his emotions: "I am surprised that I became captain so quickly. I feel very happy to take on this role and will try my best. We hope that Thai sports fans will cheer for the men's and women's volleyball teams, as well as all other athletes, to win gold medals at the SEA Games on home soil."

The announcement of Chatchu-on as captain also signals that the Thai women's team has completed its strongest squad. Currently, their top stars who are playing abroad have all returned home to prepare for this important campaign.
With home field advantage and a strong squad, Thailand is considered the number 1 candidate for the gold medal. For a long time, Thai women's volleyball has always maintained absolute dominance through many regional sports events. However, at this event, they are expected to face a bigger challenge.
Thanh Thuy returns to contribute to Vietnamese women's volleyball
Meanwhile, the biggest rival of Thailand – the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team is also making careful preparations for the SEA Games. The best news for fans is the presence of number 1 hitter Tran Thi Thanh Thuy.
Recently, the homepage of Gunma Green Wings Club (Japan) confirmed that Thanh Thuy will temporarily leave the team to return to the national team. Specifically, "4T" will miss round 9 of the women's national championship and the Japanese Empress Cup to fully devote herself to the team at the 33rd SEA Games.

Thanh Thuy’s return is an important piece to complete the playing style of the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team. Experts say the gap in skill level between the Vietnamese and Thai women’s volleyball teams is narrowing. Therefore, the Vietnamese girls are fully capable of competing for the top position.
In the final match of the 32nd SEA Games held in Cambodia in 2023, Thanh Thuy and her teammates lost to Thailand with a score of 1-3. That defeat was both a lesson and a motivation for the Vietnamese girls to be more determined in this reunion.
