Vietnam Sports Delegation donated more than 110 million VND before attending SEA Games 33

Right before leaving for Thailand to perform their duties at the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation demonstrated a very humane gesture by raising more than 116 million VND to support people in provinces that suffered heavy damage due to storms and floods.

On the afternoon of December 3, at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department, Head of the Vietnam Sports Delegation, on behalf of the delegation members, presented the above amount of money in a solemn and warm atmosphere, spreading the spirit of "mutual love" before leaving for the 33rd SEA Games.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, the donation movement has been widely launched by the entire sports industry in recent times, responding to the call of industry leaders and the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Many officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Vietnam Sports Administration have voluntarily contributed, with some units donating a day's salary; fundraising sports exchange activities have also been implemented to share some of the difficulties and losses with people in disaster areas.

That spirit is spreading more strongly among each member of the Vietnamese sports delegation as the SEA Games approaches. Athletes, coaches, experts and delegation officials have voluntarily contributed and the amount is up to 116.5 million VND. "This is the sincere sentiment of the Vietnamese sports delegation. We hope that the gift, although not large, will contribute more resources to help people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives," Mr. Minh shared.

Vietnamese sports determined to win gold, ready to share difficulties with people in the region

SEA Games 33 is a congress of special significance to Vietnamese sports.

The delegation set off with a strong force of 1,165 members , including 842 athletes , 189 coaches and 19 experts , competing in 47/66 sports , corresponding to 443/573 competition events . The delegation's goal is to win from 90 to 110 gold medals , continuing to maintain its position in the leading group in the region. The fundraising campaign right before the departure day further contributes to portraying the image of a Vietnamese sports delegation with courage, determination in expertise but also rich in social responsibility.

Receiving the donation, Mr. Cao Xuan Thao - Head of the Social Work Department, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front respectfully acknowledged the gesture of the sports sector. He affirmed that all contributions from agencies, organizations and people will be transferred to the right subjects, for the right purposes, promptly supporting people to rebuild their lives after the floods. "Every officer of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee always upholds the sense of responsibility to the people. We are committed to allocating resources as quickly as possible so that people can soon overcome difficulties," Mr. Thao emphasized.
