Thanh Lam and Quoc Trung made the audience laugh out loud.

Previously, on his personal Facebook page, Quoc Trung revealed that he would sing at the Capital Alumni Gala, which surprised many people because people usually know Quoc Trung as a musician, or in the position next to the piano.

This time "Trung Con" (musician's nickname) is back!

With the band Phuong Dong, a professional band in the 1990s, he played and soloed two songs of the time, Another day in paradise and True Colors .

Quoc Trung also sang a duet with Thanh Lam, the song Separate Lives , which was very emotional and nostalgic, but it turned out that it was the song that caused the two to break up.

The musician jokingly said, "We sang this song 30 years ago, and now we sing it again. Thanh Lam said that because of this song, we broke up. If any of you want to free each other, just sing this song as a duet." Thanh Lam also added that not only will they sing together, but any couple who hears this song will also break up.

The humorous revelation of both made many viewers laugh out loud and "give up" because of their civility towards each other after breaking up.

Quoc Trung even accompanied Thanh Lam on the guitar to sing Sa desert tinh yeu . This is a Japanese song with Vietnamese lyrics translated by musician Khuc Lan, widely loved from the late 1980s to the early 1990s.

It is worth mentioning that when performing this song, Thanh Lam looked down at doctor Tien Hung standing below and confessed "I still love Tien Hung", making the whole gala night even more special.

Desert of Love is a song with a deep lyrical melody, expressing loneliness and longing in love. But when listening to Thanh Lam sing, it sounds like a happy voice, even full of happiness, so the song is only nostalgic, not sad.

"We are still here, standing on this stage: Bang Kieu, Hoai Phuong, Le Anh Dung, Huy Ho...

But there is a member of the band who has left us, left the audience. He is a musician, a friend of ours. Surely you will never forget his songs. That is musician Xuan Phuong," Bang Kieu said.

Bang Kieu added, "Even though he is no longer with us, his music is in all of our hearts."

Bang Kieu brought his son onto the stage to perform Late Summer (a very famous debut composition by Bang Kieu). The boy's cute expression received much love and applause from the audience.

The capital's alumni gala attracted thousands of alumni, who are now successful in many fields, to return. Many of them brought their families and children.

They stood together, sang and danced as the familiar notes of their youth rang out: Hotel California , Purple Rain, Bed Of Roses, We are the Champions, Sympathy for the devil, You're my heart you're my sou, Midnight lady, Kingston Town, Mamma Mia...

Even the pouring rain couldn’t stop the music and hugs from friends. The event ran from 5pm on April 12th to midnight on April 13th.
