On March 24th, the People's Committee of Hai Chau District ( Da Nang City) announced the plan to organize Bach Dang pedestrian street (the section from Dragon Bridge to Tran Thi Ly Bridge), expected to be operational from April 27th.
The Bach Dang pedestrian street will be piloted for 5 years (54 months in the period 2023 - 2028), on a 1.2 km long route from Dragon Bridge to Tran Thi Ly Bridge, with an area of approximately 8 hectares.
Activities take place from 3 PM the previous day to midnight the following day, with a complete vehicle ban on Bach Dang Street from Dragon Bridge to Tran Thi Ly Bridge from Friday to Sunday to accommodate the pedestrian zone.

The People's Committee of Hai Chau District has invested in upgrading a total of 3 restrooms to 4-star standards, 5 check-in points, landscape decoration, artistic lighting, security cameras, and free Wi-Fi…
According to the Hai Chau District People's Committee, the investor will equip themselves with vending vehicles and containers (kiosks), and participate in the auction for the placement and parking of 12 kiosks and 15 vending vehicles. The vending vehicles are permitted to sell alcoholic beverages, but must collect and treat their own wastewater and not discharge it into the environment.
The food truck is parked close to the sidewalk in an area of 10 x 2.5 m, with vendors purchasing their own tables and chairs according to a design and arranging them within a 10 x 5.5 m space.
Interspersed among the mobile vending vehicles are kiosks measuring 10 x 4 meters (20-foot containers), each decorated according to the business plan, ensuring aesthetics and safety during stormy weather.
To ensure fairness for businesses, Hai Chau District does not allow the placement of vending machines in pedestrian zones.
5 check-in points
All 27 vending vehicle and kiosk locations will be auctioned for the right to use each location for a period of 54 months (2023 - 2028), with a starting price of 127 million VND/kiosk or 129 million VND/vending vehicle.
In addition, investors also pay a fee of 6 million VND/month/kiosk and 6.7 million VND/month/vehicle for selling goods on sidewalks and roads. However, when the authorities request the termination of the pilot project, the organizations and individuals must dismantle the structures themselves and will not be compensated for any damage to their infrastructure, including damage caused by natural disasters.
Four-star standard restrooms were built to serve the public.
Many cultural and artistic activities
Besides the services, Bach Dang pedestrian street hosts nightly events at the stage on Binh Minh 6 street (EDM music, DJ) or the crescent-shaped bridge. APEC Park regularly organizes exhibitions, cultural and artistic activities.
Along the pedestrian street, there are also New Year's celebrations, Vietnamese Tet (Lunar New Year) festivities, food stalls, hot air balloon displays, light shows; various forms of street art such as sketching, magic shows, dance performances, hip hop, street music , folk games…

Mr. Le Tu Gia Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hai Chau District, said that the locality's main task is to develop the night-time economy project, in which the Han River is considered the "living room" of the city. Therefore, Hai Chau District is determined that all activities along the Han River should create an aesthetic worthy of its status as a central district.
Bach Dang pedestrian street is part of Da Nang City's pilot project to develop its night-time economy, combining activities on Nguyen Van Troi bridge and the park on the east bank of the bridge to form a commercial and service complex.
