The game show "Our people must know our history" is maintained and organized annually by Thai Nguyen Newspaper, Radio and Television. It is a creative and meaningful way to help students love their homeland more through each page of history.

Dramatizing history

The game show “Our people must know our history” in 2025 started filming today (November 7) and will be fully recorded over 3 days, November 7, 8, and 9. The game show is organized and produced by Thai Nguyen Newspaper, Radio, and Television in collaboration with Thai Nguyen Department of Education and Training.

This year, the Game show “Our people must know our history” gathered 24 teams from secondary schools in the area to compete, with knowledge content about the fields of Vietnamese history, history of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee...

The filming schedule was delayed by about 2 weeks compared to the schedule because many participating schools were heavily affected by storm No. 11. Immediately after overcoming the consequences of the flood, the schools quickly started practicing with great enthusiasm.

Dang Tra My, class 9C, Tran Phu Secondary School, Diem Thuy commune, excitedly said: By participating in the Game show, I was able to connect with friends from other schools, learn more knowledge and feel that History is not as dry as many people think.

Hoang Thuy Duong, a 9th grade student at Huong Son Secondary School, Gia Sang Ward, shared: Through the process of approaching the set of questions, I liked the Quick Q&A and Understanding Teammates sections the most. The content of this section brought us to historical issues through a very close and interesting approach.

24 schools corresponding to 24 teams are all participating in the Game show for the first time, so many schools pay special attention to the program.

Teacher Luu Tuyet Mai, Principal of Tan Thai Primary and Secondary School, Dai Phuc Commune, commented: This is a useful playground that helps students have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of Vietnamese history as well as the history of Thai Nguyen land.

Multiplying national pride

Over the past 5 years, the Game show “Our people must know our history” has become an intellectual and attractive playground with the participation of competitions and talent demonstrations of subjects from middle school and high school students to cadres and party members in Thai Nguyen province. Through this, knowledge of Vietnamese history, the history of the provincial Party Committee, and the traditions of Thai Nguyen homeland in the flow of the country once again helps to multiply national pride.

In Vietnam, television games are developing at a very fast pace, most major media agencies are launching many new programs, searching for copyrights from European countries, America, China, Southeast Asia, Korea, Japan, Australia, interspersed with purely Vietnamese programs.

The 2000s was the time when Game shows started to boom strongly, when major television stations across the country produced game shows to compete, including Thai Nguyen Radio and Television Station, now Thai Nguyen Newspaper and Radio and Television.

Originating from Directive No. 20-CT/TW, dated January 18, 2018 of the Central Party Secretariat on "Continuing to strengthen and improve the quality of research and compilation of Party History" and Project No. 04-DA/TU dated October 10, 2016 of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Executive Committee on "Strengthening the research, compilation, propaganda and education of revolutionary tradition history and local party history for cadres, party members and people of Thai Nguyen province in the period of 2016-2020", Thai Nguyen Radio and Television Station, now Thai Nguyen Newspaper and Radio and Television, has developed a plan to organize the TV Game show "Our people must know our history" and received the attention and support of the leaders of Thai Nguyen province, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, especially the attention of young people.

With a duration of 45 minutes for each program, 6 members of the two teams will compete in 3 rounds: Self-introduction, Quick questions and quick answers, and Understanding teammates. The game show “Our people must know our history” not only brings intellectual challenges to each player but also promises to become a special spiritual food for history lovers, dear audiences of TN channel.
