Confused
One of the concerns of parents is paying the registration fee through the Ministry of Education and Training 's channel or the school's channel. According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung, Director of the Academy of Finance, some schools collect fees to check and confirm the validity of certificates for their own admission methods (considering foreign language certificates with graduation exam scores, considering international competency assessment certificates (SAT/ACT) with high school transcripts or high school graduation exam scores, etc.). This activity is independent of the virtual filtering activity on the Ministry of Education and Training 's system.
It is noted that many universities collect admission fees for their own methods. Thus, candidates who want to be admitted to the school must pay the fee twice. Once to the school and once on the admission portal of the Ministry of Education and Training. The Ministry of Education and Training once explained that the fee is calculated for each separate admission activity.
This year, university admissions have many adjustments. The early admission process has been abolished but schools still open early registration portals, causing parents and candidates to be concerned. A teacher at Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School ( Hanoi ) shared students' concerns: Is the order of preference placement at school and in the Ministry's system required to be the same? Can candidates register more/less preferences (compared to those previously registered with the school) on the Ministry's system? Can candidates be considered for direct admission to a university (by the school's decision), is it mandatory to register that preference for direct admission as the first preference, or can it be placed after some other preferences that the candidate prefers but is not directly admitted?
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao, Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training, said that candidates are required to register on the Ministry's system and this is the final decision of the candidates in this year's admission season. On the Ministry of Education and Training's system, candidates can change the order of their wishes compared to the order when registering at the school, and can add or remove the number of wishes. In case a candidate is considered for direct admission (due to the decision of a school), but the candidate wants to prioritize other wishes, he/she can put the direct admission wish first. In case the candidate fails to pass the favorite wishes, the candidate will still be admitted by the direct admission wish.
Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thanh (Ninh Binh) said that her child is wondering whether to choose her favorite major or her favorite school. Ms. Thanh shared that her child really likes studying information technology and loves Hanoi University of Science and Technology because her brother is studying there. However, her child's exam score is not enough to get into this major. Dr. Nguyen Thi Cuc Phuong, Vice Principal of Hanoi University, said that the major will follow the candidate for the rest of their life. She advised candidates and their families to choose their favorite major first. Because only love can help candidates overcome future obstacles.
There is still a chance to consider foreign language certificates.
Some parents and candidates also questioned the Ministry's system, which is still valid, allowing candidates to upload their IELTS certificates and related certificates to the system. However, the schools where candidates applied refused to allow candidates to submit additional certificates. For example, for the National Economics University, candidates who want to apply for combined admission must submit their application on the school's system from June 11 to July 11. Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of Training Department, National Economics University, affirmed that after that time, if candidates do not submit their foreign language certificates, they will not be considered for admission to the school.

Experts say that before registering on the Ministry's system, candidates need to pay attention to the registration deadline and update relevant evidence as prescribed by the school. There are schools that will refuse to accept additional certificates after this deadline. Master Nguyen Van Dung, Head of the Measurement and Evaluation Research Department, Institute of Digital Training (Hanoi National University) said that a member school of this University has just continued to open for candidates to submit additional certificates for combined admission cases. Associate Professor, Dr. Ha Le Kim Anh, Vice Principal of the University of Foreign Languages (Hanoi National University) said that candidates can register their foreign language certificates on the common system of the Ministry of Education and Training at the same time as the registration time if they have not yet registered with the school. The school accepts admission in both situations to ensure the rights of candidates.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology reminds candidates that the deadline for registering to convert foreign language certificates is July 25. Candidates can register simultaneously on the school's admission system and the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system. With a foreign language certificate, when applying to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, candidates will be awarded bonus points in the talent admission method up to 7/100 points; will be awarded bonus points when applying by the thinking assessment test score (up to 7/100 points); converted into the corresponding foreign language subject score when applying by the high school graduation exam score; have an IELTS certificate of 5.0 or higher or equivalent to be able to apply to advanced programs taught entirely in English; exempted from the English entrance test (for standard programs), if admitted; exempted from foreign language courses (depending on the level of the certificate); considered for scholarships for students.
Professor Nguyen Tien Thao noted that the Ministry's system only allows candidates to upload international foreign language certificates to the system, while candidates must submit other types of certificates (ability assessment, thinking assessment) to the school on the school's admission system within the school's prescribed deadline.
The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training said that this year, the Ministry will continue to support training institutions to upload the results of capacity assessment scores, thinking assessment (if any), aptitude test to the Ministry's enrollment support system, along with graduation scores. Candidates only register for majors and universities, the system will choose the most optimal method and combination to filter out fake candidates.
