Below is the score distribution for the History subject in the 2025 High School Graduation Examination according to the 2018 General Education Program:

The average score for History this year is 6.52, with a median score of 6.6. Notably, History saw a "flood" of perfect scores (10 out of 10), with 1,518 candidates achieving this. Nationwide, only two candidates received a score of 0.
In 2025, nearly 1.17 million candidates nationwide registered to take exams under both the 2018 General Education Program and the 2006 General Education Program simultaneously.
For students currently in 12th grade, the 2025 high school graduation exam will consist of two compulsory subjects: Mathematics and Literature. In addition, students can choose two subjects from the following: Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, Technology, and Foreign Language to take the exam.

Notably, History was the subject with the highest number of candidates taking the exam, with 499,357 students (accounting for nearly 50%).
The History exam has been reformed to include 28 multiple-choice questions with true/false answers, and candidates have 50 minutes to complete it.

The 2024 High School Graduation Examination will have nearly 1.1 million candidates nationwide. History is one of the three subjects in the Social Sciences group, with over 706,000 candidates taking the exam. Last year's results showed that more than 2,100 candidates nationwide achieved a perfect score of 10.
The average score for this subject last year was 6.57, and the most common score achieved by students was 6.75. Nationwide, more than 13% of exam papers scored below 5.

At least 5% of the Literature papers in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam will be graded.

A difference of 0.25 points after the review process will result in the adjustment of the high school graduation exam results.
