After the historic drop of nearly 95 points of VN-Index on October 20, cautious sentiment still prevails. Although the index has recovered slightly in the last three sessions, many people still choose to stand on the sidelines and observe instead of "buying the bottom".

In today’s trading session, the cautious trend continued to dominate the market. Liquidity reached nearly 30,000 billion VND – an increase compared to the previous session but still much lower than the previous bustling sessions.
Foreign investors continued to net sell, buying nearly VND3,816 billion but selling more than VND5,583 billion, showing that foreign capital is still cautious with the Vietnamese market.
At the beginning of the session, the market fluctuated around the reference level. Then, selling pressure spread, causing the VN-Index to lose more than 25 points at times, falling close to 1,660 points. By lunchtime, the index stopped at 1,672.72 points, down 14.34 points.
In the afternoon session, improved demand helped the market recover slightly, even turning green. However, selling pressure increased again towards the end of the session, causing the VN-Index to close at 1,683.18 points, down 3.88 points (-0.23%); the VN30-Index fell 1.18 points (-0.06%) to 1,944.6 points.
Market breadth was bearish with 190 stocks declining and 117 stocks rising. In the VN30 group, there were 12 stocks rising and 15 stocks falling.
In terms of industry groups, commercial and professional services and securities decreased the most. On the contrary, hardware and equipment, telecommunications services and software had positive developments.
In terms of support, VIC contributed the most to the market with 3.57 points, followed byFPT (1.07 points) and VNM (0.73 points). However, this support was not enough to offset the negative impact from the banking group, when TCB, MBB, VPB took away 1.78 points, 1.41 points and 1.4 points from the VN-Index, respectively.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, at the end of the session, the HNX-Index stopped at 267.28 points, up 0.5 points (0.19%); the HNX30-Index increased 3.12 points (0.54%) to 581.23 points. The entire floor had 2,600 billion VND changed hands.
