On May 27, at the Bo Y border gate flagpole - a place likened to a rooster crowing that can be heard by all three countries of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia - an emotional flag-raising ceremony took place.

This is one of the activities within the framework of the 2025 journey to the source , following the footsteps of the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising, organized by the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

In a solemn moment, more than 100 artists and representatives sang the National Anthem , making the atmosphere at the border marker even more sacred.

Singer Quoc Dai told Tuoi Tre Online : "I was lucky to be present with the artists attending the flag-raising ceremony at a special location that brought many emotions."

"Each trip is a valuable lesson for those born in peacetime like Quoc Dai. Through this trip, Quoc Dai understands more about the value of independence that our ancestors built. The task of today's generation is to learn and preserve peace and independence" - Quoc Dai added.

He confided: "Standing before the national flag, I feel proud and patriotic. It is not easy for us artists to come here to salute the flag. This is a very rare opportunity to experience the vast, emotional scene."

Foster love and responsibility for the homeland

Artist Phuong Loan said she had saluted the flag in many places, but this was a special occasion and she thought it would never happen again.

"The flag-raising ceremony was solemn, I was moved because it felt very sacred. Usually when I salute the flag I sing softly, but today I sang with all my might, like I was singing the lead singer" - Phuong Loan expressed her feelings to Tuoi Tre Online .

Singer Huynh Loi said that no matter the circumstances, saluting the flag is to remember and pay tribute to fallen heroes, and at the same time remind us to remember their contributions every minute, every second.

"Salute the flag at "red addresses" always gives us strange emotions. Through this, we need to live responsibly and spread it to young people" - Huynh Loi shared.
