Weather April 29: Showers in mountainous and midland areas of the North

The Hydrometeorological Agency said that currently (April 29), the Northwest region and from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain.

It is forecasted that in the evening and night of April 29, in the mountainous areas, midlands of the North and North Central regions, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, locally over 70mm.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
