After the Phong Chau bridge collapsed, at around 2 p.m. the same day, Facebook account Nguyen Thi Thuy Tien posted a video recording people rescuing a white four-seat car on a river or stream with an unknown address. Many account holders confirmed the content: "The car drifted off the Phong Chau bridge and was swept away by floodwaters for 10 kilometers and was rescued, and 4 people in the car were still alive and safely reached the shore. A miracle is expected for the next people." However, after verification, the above video was found to be untrue.

This video has received over 1,000 shares. Accordingly, the above video is actually a scene of rescuing vehicles and people swept away by floodwaters while passing through the spillway in Xuan Dai commune, Tan Son district. Comrade Ha Ngoc Tin - Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuan Dai commune said: "Around dawn on September 8, a young man driving a white 4-seater car passed through the spillway area and was swept into the stream. Although the locality had stretched ropes and put up warning signs, because it was dark and the road was not clear, people and vehicles were swept away by floodwaters. Fortunately, people around discovered and rescued them, so there were no human casualties."

Currently, according to officially announced information, 3 victims of the Phong Chau bridge collapse are being treated at Tam Nong District Medical Center. The authorities are mobilizing all forces and means to search and rescue the missing people.
