According to information from Hanoi Railway One Member Limited Liability Company (Hanoi Metro), from September 20-30, 2025, the unit will deploy a pilot program for electronic identification, authentication and biometric recognition solutions on the entire Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban railway line.
Specifically, the program was deployed at 12 stations with 65 ticket gates, simultaneously testing many advanced technologies such as: identification, electronic authentication and biometrics through chip-based ID cards/citizen ID cards, electronic tickets on the Hanoi Metro application, ticket cards and VISA international payment cards.
Participants include passengers over 60 years old (free tickets according to the policy of the People's Council) and regular passengers using single tickets and daily tickets in the above forms (up to 1,000 passengers can register to participate in the trial at the information counter at 12 stations of the Cat Linh-Ha Dong route).
When participating in the trial, passengers will be given detailed instructions on how to go through the gate, experience new technological solutions, and have their tickets priced according to the non-cash payment fare table.
Through this activity, Hanoi Metro hopes to bring passengers safe, convenient, and environmentally friendly experiences, while gradually applying modern technology, improving convenience and service quality on urban railway lines.
