Collecting 355 DNA samples for relatives of unidentified martyrs

From May 7-10, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Provincial Police, Department of Home Affairs, and Department of Health to organize a conference to collect DNA samples for relatives of unidentified martyrs in the province.

Collecting 355 DNA samples for relatives of unidentified martyrs

Conduct DNA sample collection for relatives of unidentified martyrs in the province.

Priority subjects are mothers of martyrs; mothers of mothers of martyrs; elderly and weak relatives of martyrs. Collection locations are in 4 clusters in the province including cluster 1: Viet Tri city, Phu Tho town, Lam Thao district, Phu Ninh district. Cluster 2: Thanh Ba, Ha Hoa, Doan Hung districts. Cluster 3: Thanh Thuy, Tam Nong, Thanh Son districts. Cluster 4: Cam Khe, Yen Lap, Tan Son districts and mobile sample collection at the place of residence of citizens.

As a result, 355 DNA samples were collected for relatives of unidentified martyrs in the province, of which 96 samples were collected mobile.

The conference not only contributes to building a national DNA database to serve the verification and search for martyrs' remains, but also serves as a humane bridge between the past and the present, helping those who sacrificed for the Fatherland have the opportunity to return to their homeland and family after many years of separation.
