On January 23, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long and leaders of Vietnam Electricity Group had a working session with the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) on ensuring electricity supply for the Lunar New Year 2025.

At the meeting, EVNCPC announced plans to ensure electricity for more than 4.8 million customers in 13 provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions during Tet.

Accordingly, EVNCPC has implemented many solutions to maintain a safe and continuous power source such as reviewing the entire power supply plan, increasing inspection and maintenance of the power grid system to prevent incidents.

At the same time, arrange 24/7 on-duty forces at all units and reasonably mobilize renewable energy sources in areas with high demand.

EVNCPC said the unit has applied modern technology to grid operation management through the SCADA/DMS system at 13 control centers and 1 monitoring center.

This system is connected to 158 unmanned 110kV transformer stations (100%), 100 medium-voltage hydropower plants (94%) and 49 power plants connected to the 110kV grid.

The expected maximum load capacity during the Lunar New Year in 13 provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions is 3,344 MW, an increase of 11.1% over the same period last year (3,001 MW).

During the Lunar New Year (from December 26 to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), EVNCPC commits not to stop or reduce power supply causing power outages for customers, except for incident handling cases.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long acknowledged the proactiveness, positivity, and creativity of EVN and EVNCPC in planning, arranging human resources, and means to ensure continuous power supply during the Lunar New Year.

He also noted that in addition to serving Tet, it is necessary to ensure no interruption in all preparations to meet the electricity development requirements for the Central region and the whole country.

According to the Deputy Minister, the year 2025 is considered to be very difficult for the electricity industry, and it is necessary to "go one step ahead" to ensure sufficient electricity supply for economic development as required by the Central Government. On this occasion, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long also sent Tet greetings to all workers in the electricity industry.
