Average income of many bank employees is over 40 million VND/month

By the morning of October 27, 13 banks had announced their financial reports and preliminary business results for the first 9 months of this year. However, the Big 4 group (Vietcombank, Vietinbank, Agribank , BIDV) has yet to reveal specific figures.

According to the financial statements (BCTC) published by banks, some units have increased the level of remuneration for employees. Leading the way is the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( MBBank - Code: MBB). As of the end of the third quarter, MBBank had 18,888 employees, an increase of 249 people compared to the beginning of the year. In the first 9 months of the year, the cost for employees of the "bank" was more than 8,296 billion VND, the average cost for each employee was about 49.1 million VND/month.

The number of employees of Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( Techcombank - Code: TCB) was 12,527 people as of the end of September, an increase of 679 employees compared to 1/1. However, the average cost for employees decreased to 46.8 million VND/person/month, down 4% compared to the same period last year.

Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB - Code: SHB) has 6,786 employees, an increase of 135 people compared to the beginning of the year. SHB's average employee cost is 41.2 million people/month, equivalent to ACB.

Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB - Code: ACB) had 13,022 employees as of September 30, down 268 from the beginning of the year. The average number of employees in the first 9 months of the year reached 13,156, down 1.7% year-on-year. Average employee expenses increased by 0.9% year-on-year to VND41.2 million/person/month, among the highest in the banking industry.

After 3 business quarters, Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank - Code: VPB) has spent more than 7,770 billion VND on employees, an increase of 21% compared to the same period last year. The total number of employees is 27,696 people. On average, VPBank employees are paid an income of 31.3 million VND/month.

Kienlong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (KienlongBank - Code: KLB) had 3,270 employees as of September 30, down 447 from the beginning of the year. Average employee expenses reached VND27.1 million/person/month.

As of the end of September, Loc Phat Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank (LPBank - Code: LPB) had 9,416 employees, a decrease of 1,773 people compared to the beginning of the year. The average number of bank employees decreased by 8.2% compared to the same period. On average, each bank employee was paid 25.4 million VND/person/month, an increase of 10.9% compared to the same period in 2024.

An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ABBank - Code: ABB) has 3,778 employees, a decrease of 589 people compared to the beginning of the year. Compared to the same period last year, the average cost for ABBank employees increased by 16%, to 24.9 million VND/person/month.

According to the consolidated financial report, the Prosperity and Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (PGBank - Code: PGB) has 1,872 employees, an increase of 49 people compared to the beginning of the year. In the first 9 months of this year, the bank's employee expenses were VND422,986 billion, with an average cost per employee of nearly VND24.8 million/month.

At Viet A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VietABank - Code: VAB), at the end of the third quarter, the number of employees was 1,612, compared to nearly 1,600 at the end of last year. In the first 9 months of the year, the cost for employees was about 24.6 million VND/person.
