Average income of many bank employees is over 40 million VND/month

By the morning of October 27th, 13 banks had released their financial reports and preliminary business results for the first nine months of this year. However, the Big 4 (Vietcombank, Vietinbank, Agribank , BIDV) have yet to reveal specific figures.

According to financial reports published by banks, several institutions have increased employee compensation. Leading the way is Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( MBBank - Code: MBB). As of the end of the third quarter, MBBank had 18,888 employees, an increase of 249 compared to the beginning of the year. In the first nine months of the year, the bank's employee expenses totaled over 8,296 billion VND, averaging approximately 49.1 million VND per employee per month.

Techcombank ( TCB) had 12,527 employees as of the end of September, an increase of 679 employees compared to January 1st. However, the average cost per employee decreased to VND 46.8 million/person/month, a 4% decrease compared to the same period last year.

Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB - Code: SHB) has 6,786 employees, an increase of 135 people compared to the beginning of the year. SHB's average employee cost reached 41.2 million VND/month, equivalent to ACB.

Asia Commercial Bank (ACB - Code: ACB) had 13,022 employees as of September 30th, a decrease of 268 people compared to the beginning of the year. The average number of employees in the first nine months of the year reached 13,156 people, a decrease of 1.7% compared to the same period last year. The average cost per employee increased by 0.9% compared to the same period last year, reaching VND 41.2 million/person/month, which is among the highest in the banking industry.

After three quarters of operation, Vietnam Prosperity Commercial Bank (VPBank - Code: VPB) spent over VND 7,770 billion on employee compensation, a 21% increase compared to the same period last year. The total number of employees is 27,696. On average, VPBank employees are paid VND 31.3 million per month.

Kienlong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (KienlongBank - Code: KLB) had 3,270 employees as of September 30th, a decrease of 447 people compared to the beginning of the year. The average cost per employee reached VND 27.1 million/person/month.

As of the end of September, Loc Phat Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank (LPBank - Code: LPB) had 9,416 employees, a decrease of 1,773 people compared to the beginning of the year. The average number of employees per bank decreased by 8.2% compared to the same period last year. On average, each bank employee received 25.4 million VND/person/month, an increase of 10.9% compared to the same period in 2024.

An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ABBank - Code: ABB) has 3,778 employees, a decrease of 589 people compared to the beginning of the year. Compared to the same period last year, the average cost per employee at ABBank increased by 16%, to VND 24.9 million/person/month.

According to its consolidated financial report, Prosperity and Development Commercial Bank (PGBank - Code: PGB) has 1,872 employees, an increase of 49 compared to the beginning of the year. In the first nine months of this year, the bank's employee expenses amounted to VND 422,986 billion, averaging nearly VND 24.8 million per employee per month.

At VietABank (VAB), the number of employees was 1,612 at the end of the third quarter, compared to nearly 1,600 at the end of last year. In the first nine months of the year, employee costs amounted to approximately 24.6 million VND per person.
