On November 19, the Times of Israel reported that two more Israeli soldiers were killed in clashes in Gaza on November 18. Since Israel launched its ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, 58 Israeli soldiers have been killed.
On the same day, speaking at a press conference on the evening of November 18, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that his country has no intention of transferring control of Gaza to the Palestinian Authority after the war ends.
Hamas has seized about 240 hostages since launching a surprise, large-scale attack on Israel on October 7. Israel and Hamas are in the process of negotiating a deal to release the hostages in exchange for a ceasefire.
