Prime Minister surveys new cultural works that are a highlight of the Ancestral Land

According to the province's report, in recent times, the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Tho province have focused on developing synchronous infrastructure, building civilized and modern urban areas; at the same time, making efforts to restore and expand the space of folk cultural festivals, practicing unique cultural heritages, with the goal of making Phu Tho province, specifically Viet Tri city, a cultural and festival rendezvous to return to the roots of the Vietnamese people.

In particular, the Phu Tho province cultural and artistic house project was built at Hung Vuong Square, Viet Tri City to create an architectural highlight, organize cultural and artistic performances and community activities, serve the cultural and artistic enjoyment needs of people and tourists, and is a tourist attraction.

Phu Tho Provincial Cultural and Art House is built on a plot of land with an area of 17,805 m2, the project has a scale of 1,000 seats including 3 floors above ground, 1 basement and 1 roof floor; about 33.9 m high. The project has a total investment of nearly 400 billion VND from the central and local budgets and other legal capital sources.

The project started construction in April 2022, and to date the completed volume is estimated at 200 billion VND. It is actively completing and installing equipment, and is expected to be completed in 2024.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that Phu Tho is a sacred ancestral land with a heroic historical tradition and a rich and unique cultural identity; it has two representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity, including the Hung King worship and Phu Tho Xoan singing, recognized by UNESCO.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of developing culture on par with the economy, politics, and society; culture is the spiritual foundation of society, the endogenous strength of the nation; as long as culture exists, the nation exists; culture has national, scientific, and popular character.

Believing that to develop culture, it is necessary to develop people, invest in infrastructure, and build cultural institutions, the Prime Minister highly appreciated Phu Tho's attention and bold investment in building the Phu Tho province's cultural and artistic house.

The Prime Minister welcomed the large number of cadres and workers who still worked tirelessly on the project site on the Hung Kings' Day holiday with the spirit of "only working, no back-and-forth", "working in 3 shifts, 4 shifts", "braving the sun, overcoming the rain", "working through holidays and Tet", "eating and sleeping quickly".

The Prime Minister requested the leaders of Phu Tho province to continue to pay attention to leadership and direction, contractors and staff and workers to continue to make efforts and promote a sense of responsibility in project construction and implementation, with the goal of ensuring progress, avoiding prolongation that causes capital increase and waste, the sooner the project is put into operation, the more beneficial it is, and the sooner the people can benefit; at the same time, ensuring quality, technique, aesthetics, labor safety, environmental sanitation, and fighting corruption and negativity.

The Prime Minister noted the need to refer to other cultural and artistic works at home and abroad to build the Phu Tho cultural and artistic house in the direction of combining tradition and modernity, internationalizing national cultural identity and quintessence, and nationalizing world cultural values and quintessence.

In order for the project to be put into operation effectively and with quality, meeting the needs of people and tourists to enjoy cultural values, the Prime Minister requested Phu Tho province and relevant agencies to pay attention to human resource training, prepare operational content, research exploitation and management mechanisms in accordance with autonomy with the model of "public investment, private management", ensuring publicity, transparency and efficiency.
