According to information from wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City, the quantity of vegetables, fruits, livestock meat, poultry... pouring into the market every night is abundant, with stable prices. Among these, many fresh fruits such as lychee, mango, avocado... have quite soft prices. For example, grafted mango costs 5,000 VND/kg, mango Cat Chu 25,000 VND/kg, tangerine 18,000 VND/kg, long watermelon 9,000 VND/kg, rambutan 4,000 VND/kg; pork pieces from 68,000-74,000 VND/kg, lean meat 95,000 VND/kg... At some supermarkets and shopping centers... promotional programs are constantly being renewed, with high frequency (1-2 weeks) spread throughout this summer to attract customers. For example, the supermarket systems Aeon Mall, Go!, BigC, Tops Market (under Central Retail)... all offer deep discounts from 50%-70% depending on the item. These supermarket systems continuously "rotate" promotions to connect customers more closely with the promotion programs. Typically, the Go!, BigC systems... are selling 034 avocado for less than 21,000 VND/kg, Tien Giang dragon fruit for 18,000 VND/kg, durian for more than 60,000 VND/kg; adult rain boots cost from 129,000-199,000 VND/pair; shorts, T-shirts cost from 59,000-100,000 VND/piece... Compared to some items being sold at grocery stores, the above selling prices are quite competitive, easy to reach buyers.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, there are currently about 7,000 promotional programs, worth up to hundreds of billions of VND, taking place from now until September 15, really creating highlights, attracting the attention of customers. In particular, focusing on food, fashion , cosmetics... In addition, the city is also piloting the construction of tours with the participation of travel companies, hotels, restaurants, distribution systems and non-cash payment units with the goal of sharing benefits and risks.

Support grocery store upgrade

Sharing with SGGP Newspaper, the owner of Huyen Anh 1 convenience store (Hung Ngan apartment building, Duong Thi Muoi street, District 12) happily said that he had just opened a new store at Picity apartment building, also in the district. Upgrading and expanding the grocery store into a convenience store contributed to increasing revenue and solving jobs for family members. Huyen Anh 1 store sells a variety of food, diverse goods, and reasonable prices, so customers buy a lot. Especially during the recent Lunar New Year peak, purchasing power increased by 15%-25% compared to before upgrading the store.

In addition, partners are also supported with debt for purchasing goods up to 500 million VND, a payment period of 15 days with many different payment methods...

Mr. Bruno Jousselin, CEO of MM Mega Market, commented that the “Good Price” model helps the business community and manufacturers sell better, hundreds of grocery stores operate more effectively, contributing to promoting the overall development of the Vietnamese retail industry. Currently, the “Good Price” model is present in major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Binh Duong, Bien Hoa, Quy Nhon, Buon Ma Thuot, Rach Gia... and it is expected that by 2026 there will be about 10,000 stores.

Previously, the Saigon Co.op system also had a series of convenience stores along Dong Bac Street, Duong Thi Muoi (District 12), Quang Trung (Go Vap District), spread across districts such as Nha Be, Can Gio... but now many of them have closed. The latest information from Saigon Co.op said that this unit is completing a cooperation model with people who want to change their business, want to own convenience stores, mini supermarkets... Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, commented that the efforts of stores, supermarkets, shopping centers... to join hands to consume agricultural products, subsidize consumers; some choose people as business partners have contributed significantly to stimulating current consumer demand. That is also a sustainable strategy, going hand in hand with development, expanding the market, and retaining customers of modern retailers.
