
With the theme "Brilliant Moon River - Brightening Heritage", the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Race in Can Tho City in 2025 is a unique art program, attracting a large number of people and tourists to participate.
The festival is held from November 3 to November 5 in Phu Loi ward and Soc Trang ward. Within the framework of the festival, there are activities such as: Ngo boat racing; Moon worship ceremony; water lantern release performance (Loiprotip) and Ca Hau boat; Trade promotion fair of Ocop products of Can Tho city and regional specialties in 2025...

In particular, the 2025 Can Tho City Ngo Boat Race has 61 boat teams participating (including 8 female Ngo boat teams). This is a traditional sport activity that attracts hundreds of thousands of people, tourists and fans to watch.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, said: Ooc Om Boc is a traditional festival of the Khmer ethnic group in the South, held on the full moon day of the 10th lunar month every year. The festival is one of the national intangible cultural heritages recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City emphasized: Through the festival, we aim to honor the traditional cultural beauty of the Khmer ethnic people in the city, meet the thoughts, aspirations, and needs for cultural and spiritual life of the ethnic people in the area, and at the same time contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural values and beliefs of the Khmer ethnic people.
