Carry out the task of testing and issuing driving licenses from May 9, 2025

DTO - From March 1, 2025, the task of testing and issuing driving licenses has been transferred to the Public Security sector. According to the latest information from the Traffic Police Department, starting from May 9, 2025, Dong Thap Provincial Police will perform the task of testing and issuing driving licenses.

Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Thanh Nhan - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department, Dong Thap Provincial Police, said: “The Traffic Police Department has proactively advised the Provincial Police Department Board of Directors to organize training courses on testing and issuing driving licenses for leaders, commanders, and officers in the unit to have the ability and conditions to perform this task. We have coordinated with the Training Center to re-check the facilities and equipment to serve the testing work; review the number of students who have been trained at training facilities but have not yet been tested, from which we will classify and divide them into groups, advise the Provincial Police Department Board of Directors to include them in the list of future testing classes. Currently, the Traffic Police Department has reported and received approval from the Provincial Police Department Board of Directors to organize the first testing session at the Traffic Engineering VocationalEducation Center in Cao Lanh City with 1,173 students. With this number, the Traffic Police Department has sent a list of notifications to the Testing Center and training facilities as well as publicly posted on the Dong Thap Provincial Police Information Portal. Candidates are requested to review the announcement and prepare the conditions and focus on the upcoming exams.

Accordingly, on May 9, Dong Thap Provincial Police held the opening ceremony of the examination period, granting A1, A, B, C driver's licenses and re-examining the theory for those who changed their driver's licenses late for 1,173 students. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Colonel Bui Be Nam - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police noted a number of contents: For the Driver's License Examination Council, it is necessary to assign specific tasks to members, thoroughly educate officers and examiners to strictly implement, ensure compliance with procedures and regulations on driver's license examination; demonstrate objectivity, transparency and efficiency in the examination process. The comrades assigned to perform the tasks must ensure seriousness, quality, science and compliance with regulations to serve the safe and thoughtful examination period.
