Firefighting and rescue practice at Quy Nhon Port

(GLO)- On the afternoon of September 8, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Steering Committee of Gia Lai province held a conference to deploy a plan to practice fire fighting and rescue in coordination with many forces at Quy Nhon Port.

According to the hypothetical situation, a large fire broke out at warehouse No. 11 of Quy Nhon Port, covering an area of ​​about 550 m². In the initial stage, 5 people were suffocated by smoke, unconscious, and 15 people were trapped inside. Medical forces and Fire and Rescue Police were mobilized to rescue people and control the fire, preventing it from spreading.

The provincial police mobilized 163 officers and soldiers along with vehicles and equipment to participate in fire fighting. Coordinating units including the Provincial Military Command, Department of Health, Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, Gia Lai Electricity Company, Quy Nhon Ward People's Committee and Quy Nhon Port Joint Stock Company also arranged forces and vehicles to practice according to the scenario.

As planned, the general rehearsal of the plan will take place at 8:00 a.m. on September 14; the official practice session will be held at 8:00 a.m. on September 15, 2025 at Quy Nhon Port.

Lieutenant Colonel Ksor H'Bo Khap - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, Deputy Head of the Provincial Fire Prevention and Rescue Steering Committee requested the participating forces to closely follow the scenario, strictly implement it, and ensure absolute safety for people and property of Quy Nhon Port throughout the exercise.
