According to the New York Times, Silicon Valley is experiencing “China Envy,” a feeling of both admiration and fear at the speed of China's technological development. The breakthrough of the low-cost AI model DeepSeek is considered a shock that makes the American technology industry look back at itself.
While the US is busy debating ethics and AGI, China has chosen a pragmatic path, focusing on speed and efficiency of application. Billionaires like Elon Musk and Marc Andreessen admit that China is demonstrating the spirit of daring to experiment that made Silicon Valley legendary.
Figures show that by 2023, China will spend up to 1.8 trillion USD on R&D, double that of the US and account for 54% of the global industrial robot market. Analysts say “China Envy” reflects America’s fear of falling behind and losing direction in the new generation technology race. However, experts warn that China's power has limits, with public debt, slow growth and growing inequality.
Silicon Valley may be jealous, but that jealousy, if channeled into motivation, could help America revive its technological golden age in the AI era. Dear readers, please watch more videos : AI Trash Cleaning | Hanoi 18:00
