Potential traffic safety risks on National Highway 279

On the road in the communes of Tham Duong, Duong Quy, Hoa Mac, Lang Giang, Son Thuy and Khanh Yen town, many road locations were dug up, dust covered the view, causing traffic safety problems. The environment and urban beauty were also seriously affected. Many ditches and sewers on the roads were dug up by the construction unit but were not covered, posing a potential danger to road users.

The construction process of the connecting road causes dust, greatly affecting traffic participants.

The project connecting the Northern mountainous provinces with Lai Chau and Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, the section passing through Lao Cai province, is 64 km long, passing through 10 communes and towns of Van Ban district. According to the design, the route is invested with a design speed of 60 km/h; road surface width of 6 m, roadbed width of 9 m.

At the end of October 2024, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and the People's Committee of Van Ban District had a meeting with representatives of the investor and project contractors. Here, Van Ban District requested the investor and contractor to implement the construction according to the proposed schedule; strengthen coordination with local authorities to remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process.
