Finding talent through the National Junior Figure Skating Championship

Taking place over 3 days, from October 20-22 at the Royal City ice rink (Vincom Mega Mall Royal City - Hanoi ), the tournament will have the participation of 100 athletes from ice rinks across the country and Vietnamese athletes living abroad. Notably, in addition to domestic referees, there will also be a team of referees from Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Pham Xuan Tai spoke at the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Mr. Pham Xuan Tai - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports emphasized that the 2023 National Youth Figure Skating Championship is organized with the aim of creating a healthy playground, training health, improving physical fitness for the youth community and also an opportunity for athletes to exchange, learn and improve their figure skating and speed skating skills.

In addition, scouts will have the opportunity to find outstanding athletes for the national team; train and coach to represent Vietnam in competitions organized by the International Skating Federation and the Asian Skating Federation, especially the 33rd SEA Games taking place in Thailand in 2025, which is expected to include Figure Skating and for the first time Speed Skating.

Impressive awards with beautiful performances

At the tournament, athletes compete in 7 categories of Figure Skating including: Adult, Junior (male/female), Novice (male/female), Elementary, Preliminary; 18 categories of Speed Skating including: Senior (male/female), Junior A, B, C, D (male/female), Novice A, B, C, D (male/female).

Applying the latest Competition Rules of the International Skating Federation, the 2023 National Junior Skating Championships will compete in male/female individual championship rankings, divided by age of athletes.

The tournament is considered a place to nurture Vietnamese Figure Skating talents.

At the end of the tournament, the top 3 athletes of each category will be awarded medals, certificates and other prizes. All athletes participating in the tournament will be granted a certificate of participation in the tournament by the Vietnam Skating and Roller Federation.
