The units have discussed a plan to move the YAK-130 training aircraft out of the forest after completing the scene investigation. This work is expected to be carried out tomorrow (November 9).
According to information from the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command, the unit has reinforced 3 forces, including: Army, militia, border guards, coordinating with the Air Defense - Air Force to set up rings and checkpoints to protect the scene where the YAK-130 training aircraft crashed.
" The scene has been blocked off and strictly protected in many rings, no one is allowed to enter or exit this area, " said the leader.
Authorities strictly guarded the area where the plane was found.
Earlier, at about 3:00 p.m. the same day, a YAK-130 aircraft of Air Force Regiment 940 that crashed during training in Binh Dinh was found about 7km from Dang Phok village (Buon Don district, Dak Lak), in sub-region 428, Yok Don National Park.
Previously, at 9:55 a.m. on November 6, two pilots, Colonel Nguyen Van Son, sitting in the front cabin, and Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, sitting in the back cabin, flew the YAK-130 on a practice flight from Phu Cat airport.
At 10:38, when the landing practice session ended, the pilot discovered that the plane had a problem and tried to handle the emergency situation but was unsuccessful. He reported to the flight commander and was allowed to parachute at the TB2 Shooting Range area, Tay Son district and landed in the Ham Ho mountain forest area.
Authorities later found the two pilots in the evening, 10 hours after the incident.
According to information from the Ministry of Defense , the pilot circled three times to try to fix the problem, but ran out of fuel and had to let the plane fall freely into the forest to ensure safety. The two pilots were ordered to parachute when the plane was 600 meters above the ground.
