According to the Dak Lak Provincial Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Transportation and Rural Agricultural Development Projects (Board A - the investor), as of October 9th, the total volume of work completed on the project is still behind schedule compared to the committed deadline of November 31st, 2025. The total value of work completed reached over 3,084/4,293 billion VND, achieving nearly 72% of the contract value, a delay of 4.07%.
The People's Committee of Dak Lak province assessed that, for Component 3 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway, land clearance in some areas still faces limitations and has not been completely resolved. The construction progress of some contractors is still slow, seriously affecting the goal of completing the entire project in 2025.
To put an end to delays and ensure strict adherence to regulations, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province requested the project investor to rectify and address the issue of contractors citing land clearance as a reason for delaying construction and violating the progress schedule on areas already handed over (if any). He also directed contractors to focus maximum resources, accelerate construction progress, and provide specific written commitments on a plan to compensate for previously delayed work.
At the same time, based on the contract and legal regulations, study decisive measures to handle the contractor if they continue to violate the schedule, including the option of transferring the work to another contractor with greater capacity. Assign officials to closely monitor and work directly with local authorities and the Provincial Land Development Center to urge progress, resolve obstacles, and ensure the progress milestones are met.
Regarding obstacles in land clearance, especially the additional 10 hectares (junction branches, irrigation ditch improvement, etc.), the Provincial People's Committee requests the Provincial Land Fund Development Center and the People's Committees of Tan Tien, Ea Knuec, and Ea H'Ning communes to prioritize manpower to coordinate, guide, and immediately resolve land-related procedures such as verifying land ownership, approving specific land prices, compensation and support plans, resettlement, and land clearance, etc., without any further delays. They will also be held fully responsible to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for any delays in land clearance.
According to Mr. Tran Tien Dong, Director of Project Management Board A, Component Project 3 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway is registered by Dak Lak province for inauguration to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and is expected to be completed and inaugurated in December 2025.

Faced with obstacles affecting the project's progress, Project Management Board A directed contractors to overcome all difficulties, focusing manpower and machinery on a "three shifts, four teams" approach to accelerate project progress. Simultaneously, they coordinated with local authorities and relevant units to complete land clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure, determined to complete the project according to the set schedule.
Component project 3 of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway, phase 1, has a total investment of over 6,165 billion VND and a length of over 48km.
