Recently, false information has been circulating on social media about a male student named "Tin" from the Natural Sciences 25 class of a university in Da Nang being kidnapped. Immediately after receiving the information, the Hoa Khanh Ward Police quickly coordinated with relevant agencies and the university to verify and clarify the matter.
Through the verification process, the police agency confirmed that the information about the "kidnapping of a student" was completely fabricated and untrue.
Through working with relevant units, the school confirmed that all students are safe; there have been no cases of kidnapping, detention, or loss of contact as reported in the circulating content. Regarding personal information, after checking the class list of KHTN25, the police confirmed that there is no student named "Tin" as mentioned in the social media posts.
The Hoa Khanh Ward Police are coordinating with the city's police departments to urgently verify the identity of the person who disseminated this false information in order to handle the case strictly in accordance with the law.
The police warned that any act of using social media to spread fabricated or distorted information, or to disrupt public order and security, will be severely punished. They also advised citizens, officials, lecturers, and students to raise their awareness of fake news on social media: Absolutely do not share, comment on, or disseminate unverified information; carefully check the source of information before posting; and immediately report any false information to the police or local authorities.
The police also called on the public to work together to build a safe and healthy online environment, contributing to maintaining security and order in the area.
