Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requests that from now until the end of June, units strengthen communication on the theme and key messages of the Vietnam Sea and Islands Week associated with World Oceans Day 2025 in line with the orientation of marine economic development, environmental protection, climate change response and digital transformation; organize seminars, talks, and forums on the application of science and technology in the management and sustainable use of marine space; manage, exploit and use marine and island resources and environment rationally and effectively; share models of classifying domestic solid waste at source on islands and coastal areas.

At the same time, strengthen the control, monitoring and treatment of plastic waste and solid waste in coastal and island areas; promote the circular economic model in coastal communities; prioritize local initiatives in protecting the marine environment; launch emulation movements and community movements such as the Ocean Cleanup Campaign, limit plastic waste, build a green marine community; organize art creation contests, short videos , digital designs on the theme of seas and islands, apply green technology, etc.

The theme of World Oceans Day 2025 is “Magical Oceans: Preserving the Source of Human Life”; the theme of Vietnam Sea and Islands Week 2025 is “Green Technology for Sustainable Oceans”.
